The Covenant of Baha'u'llah

When finishing up Ruhi; book 8, unit 1, there, in black and white, I came across this beautiful writing from Selected Writings of Abdu'l-Baha'. It brought to mind this forum.

" If in this day a soul shall act according to the precepts and the counsels of God, he will serve as a divine physician to mankind, and like the trump of Israfil, he will call the dead of this contingent world to life; for the confirmations of the Abha' Realm are never interrupted, and such a virtuous soul hath, to befriend him, the unfailing help of the Company on high. Thus shall a sorry gnat become an eagle in the fullness of his strength, and a feeble sparrow change to a royal falcon in the heights of ancient glory."

I have so enjoyed unit 1 in Book 8 of The Covenant of Baha'u'llah, and am looking forward to unit 2. There is so much to learn, it could be overwhelming, but it is not.

Loving regards,
Becky

Well done Becky! I have always loved the topic of the Covenant, it is unique.

Back in 2014 I got 1/2 way through Book 8 Unit 2 and took off Ha ha have not got back to a place where I can do Rhui now above book 8, as there is no one to teach it

I hear it goes on to many other books now!

God bless you and Family, regards Tony

" Here I saw a man who, outwardly, like myself, lived in the world of confusion, yet, inwardly, beyond the possibility of doubt, lived and worked in that higher and real world. All His concepts, all His motives, all His actions, derived their springs from that 'World of Light '. And, which is to me a most inspiring and encouraging fact, He took it for granted that you and I, the ordinary run-of-the-mill humanity, could enter into and live and move in that world if we would."
Howard Colby Ives, 'Portals to Freedom's, pp28-29.

This was written by a Christian minister, who accepted the message brought be Abdu'l-Baha' to the west. I found it particularly inspiring and encouraging.

Loving regards,
Becky

Greetings Becky,

Thank you for sharing such a positive experience. As you can see, it is not too difficult to learn about the power of the Bahá'í Covenant, especially if you take it step by step in a calm and contemplative manner with a good group of people.

Here is gentle taste to help put your positive learning experience into wider perspective for you:

"It is indubitably clear, that the pivot of the oneness of mankind is nothing else but the power of the Covenant… The power of the Covenant is as the heat of the sun which quickeneth and promoteth the development of all created things on earth. The light of the Covenant, in like manner, is the educator of the minds, the spirits, the hearts and souls of men."

'Abdu’l-Baha (cited in God Passes By, 238-239)

I am really delighted that you are finding this subject such a positive learning experience. As you can see, your experience is actually the light of the Covenant having a direct impact on your mind, spirit, heart and soul. It is no wonder you are positively glowing.

Earth
