A Phrase from a Dream

Yesterday morning I read about some of the symbolic dreams Táhirih had and also on the subject of intercession, or the idea that the departed can influence the world and communicate with us. I thus asked for intercession, specifically asking Táhirih and Zhuang Tzu, as both are associated with dreaming, to influence my dreams the following night.

Whether intercession happened or not, I of course cannot definitively say, but regardless of that fact I had a very interesting dream last night, full of symbolism.

I'm still in the process of thinking about the whole dream, but I wanted to share one image of the dream and one phrase from the dream, which I think stood out the most from the dream.

The image was a large hall, in which the followers and practitioners of many religions were gathered, myself among them. We were told to link hands together into a circular chain comprised of everyone in the room, and to each pray whatever prayer we wished.

I am fairly certain this image is symbolic of "Unity of Religion" and specifically "Unity in Diversity", with every person united together, but diverse and varied in their specific practices and prayers. "Unity in Diversity" symbolism was all over the dream.

We were then told the following: “When united in this way [United in Diversity], a prayer for the individual becomes a prayer for all, and a prayer for all becomes a prayer for the individual.”

Which is an interesting statement that I thought might be worth sharing.

It reminds me of a dream I had many years ago, when I had pioneered to a new neighbourhood: there was a knock on the door, and I asked "Who is it?" And the reply was "Everyone!"

Best,

Walrus:

Your dream experience reminded me of two quotes I will offer.

“Say: O concourse of priests and monks! . . . He Who is your Lord, the All-Merciful, cherisheth in His heart the desire of beholding the entire human race as one soul and one body. . . . “
(From Tablet to Napoleon III, printed in Summons of the Lord of Hosts, p. 81)

‘Abdu’l-Bahá reportedly said that we must "be as one soul in many bodies, for the more we love each other, the nearer we shall be to God.” (Bahá’u’lláh and the New Era, p. 76 of 1980 edition)
