Demonisation of mental illness

Such a tragic loss of life in the Pyrenees when the plane came down. My heart goes out to those on board, their terror is unimaginable. Another worrying factor is the huge amount of emphasis being put on the mental illness of the perpetrator. Could this be to distract people away from the fact that one person should not be left alone in a cockpit? It goes without saying that not everyone who suffers depression has thoughts of mass murder. This was an act of pure evil! People should not be made to fear the ill. The magnanimous thoughts of the American relatives who said they pitied the perpetrators parents was uplifting to say the least. I would like to say I'd be equally magnanimous, but I just don't know and hope never to know. Aidan

Agreed. I think we should help the ill, not be scared of them. Pilots should be screened
