Platonic Cohabitation

Does anyone know whether cohabitation between an adult male and female as housemates (not in a romantic relationship) is permissible? Is there a risk of losing one's voting rights? I ask because there is an opportunity to live with a good friend of mine of the opposite sex, and I would like to consider having her as a housemate if we conclude that a relationship beyond friendship is not in our future.

Don't. There is a UHJ text on this, which was quoted here some time ago. Basically, it it says - if I remember correctly - that there is no such thing as an absolute prohibition of such cohabitation.
