The Phoenix Baha'i Youth Conference ended with Great Service!

We had approximately 850+ youth come from 5 states (Nevada, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona).

I am 22 years old and I believe I had one of the honors to attend such a great event for three days. Approximately 45% of the registrants were either graduated junior youth, youth in study circles, devotional youth, and friends who decided to learn more about the Baha'i Faith with friends from the American Indian territories.

The conference was an all day event going on for three consecutive days with lessons that included the importance of youth in service, the road to become an animator in our communities, and that advancement of civilizations which were discussed in groups that represented the neighborhoods which we served.

We also were happy to have a member of the NSA of United States and two Counselor Board Members from the Holy Land who shared their knowledge and blessings with us youth throughout the whole conference. All of us also committed to starting either children's classes, JYGs, devotionals, and study circles.

I registered to be part of a 10-day intensive training program for Book 5, although I am an active animator, it is always a benefit to refine my skills as an animator. I also committed to begin a Book 1 study circle 3 days/week with 14 other youth in my neighborhood.

Service has always been a main principle in the Baha'i Faith and we do it in order to create a positive and integrative force in our community for the betterment of humanity!

I wish to add a little report I received from a friend in Australia, concerning their latest Youth Conference.

These youth conferences that are now happening fill my veins with intense excitement and my spirit with immense joy. As I have gone past 30 years of age (but only just, mind you (cheeky grin)) am unable to attend, but with five youth in out community, of whom four are on the Local Assembly, we are (well, at least, I am) hoping that ......... community gets a real rocketing from it when they return from the conferences being held here. There are a couple of people who I think will have a little difficulty dealing with it at first, but like everything, am certain they will adapt quickly enough. What is most exciting is that it is not just Baha'i youth, but all youth. Tell me that is not a distinct blurring of the boundaries!! Our understanding here is that the results of these conferences will be as nothing we have seen before, and not measurable in the same terms we are used to using. We, the older generation, need now, more than ever, to stand by our youth, support them, encourage them, get behind them. Both Shoghi Effendi and the Universal House of Justice have explicitly said that the forward progress of the Cause is in the hands of the youth. Expect to see amazing results and fantastic repercussions from the conferences.

I was very happy to hear that it is not only Baha'i Youth at these conferences (wonderful) Tell me is this also what is happening in the USA?

Great to hear the dedication of these Youth, may God bless you all with much capacity and bounty.

It is a special time of life, we seem to be more open to new challenges when we are young.

Go for it all of you! It will be a time you will remember all your lives.

Regards Tony

Did anybody else on here go to that one? If so, tell me who you were. Maybe we met.

Many of the friends from Texas I've met from the previous Grand Canyon Baha'i Conference hosted annually in December had attended the Dallas conference and shared their pictures on Facebook. I hope it was awe-inspiring and a beautiful experience to meet such an amazing crowd of friends and those willing to serve in their communities.

During the Phoenix Youth conference, which I attended, we had the pleasure of having Counselor Navid Serrano share a vision of each of us carrying the Divine Seed to each of our communities and planting the vision of what Baha'u'llah had germinated almost 160 years ago. It's a beautiful and visionary thing to imagine the world full of love, kindness, and unity.

EternalStudent, I hope you got a lot out of the conference (just as much as I did during the Phoenix conference) and God bless you and every youth who attended the youth conference around the world to go out there and plant this Divine Seed for the Cause of God!

Just wondering if there was anything different at these youth conferences other than some of the same initiatives that we have heard from the House.

5-year plan, institute courses, etc, etc...

Question

Maybe you might help me with some questions about Youth Conferences:

1. Do you have any information about what happened with Youth Conferences in Baku, Bangui, Karachi and Khujand? There is no mention of those cities among conference reports at 114 Youth Conferences - Bahá'í World News Service

2. Also on the website there are mentions of Jakarta (Indonesia), Istanbul (Turkey for 9-11 August 2013), and Tbilisi (Georgia) but no reports published. Do you have any ideas why? Do you know how many people attended them?

3. I heard that there was a letter from UHJ with some guidelines how to take pictures and videos at Youth Conferences. If you have that letter by chance, can you share it with me, please?
