He did not say "why" these are forbidden (haram). We can speculate as to why they are forbidden, but He did not say. HE did not "why" some people are homosexual.

There is a letter written on bahalf of the Guardian that says that adultery and other sexual sins "retard the progress of the soul in the Afterlife." We are not told "why" they do, or how.

"IF" Baha'u'llah was a Manifestation of God, and Infallible, then He revealed the Will of God for Baha'is. A "Baha'i" means a follower of Baha'u'llah. If we don't "follow" Him, meaning obeying Him, we are not Baha'is.
I'd be very interested in the source. The only reference I know is in THE KATIBI AQDAS and it is attacked as too vague, "...We shrink from the subject of boys....". Of coursed the Blessed Perfection shrank from the subject. I don't understand why we have not seen a reference that is that clear. I have no problem with the interpretation of those words by The Master and The Guardian. I don't believe a moral civilization would support homosexuality as a lifestyle. Ignorance makes it acceptable to live that way. There is so much more to the gay lifestyle than the non gay person will ever see or realize.

HI! Imho, back in the time of Baha'u'llah, homosexual issues (rights, gay marriage) was non-existant. It was something that was done in secret. So why should it have even been discussed? The "norms" of the day were the main focus.
I have read in Christian, Islamic, and Gaudiya Vaishnava ("Hare Krishnas") texts that homosexual acts are verboten as is heterosexual pre- (and extra-) marital sex is verboten. Evidentally this is what God intended for His creation, the humans.
What is the problem of following His rules instead of the lusts of the flesh?

history

Homosexuality was far from unknown in the middle east, in fact more common. Brothels used young boys. There is poetry written to young boys. If anything it was more accepted in the east than in the west in the 19th Century.

However I think it is great that you believe the teaching as it is meant which is for a healthy family and society. Far from condemning the individual who we accept, we are against that practice as a lifestyle. I hope as you are exposed to Baha'is and more of the teachings that you will continue to be as accepting and when it is difficult, you know where to come to ask questions and discuss things.

It is not unusual to hit bumps in the road of faith, when you do it is important to find others to talk to. All of us have difficulties at times. It is so GOOD to have you and your openness to understanding. Have you had any Ruhi Courses? I think they are great and have to be experienced to be understood. The courses are not just intellectual content. To me they are like being in a prayer. Definitely special.

WOW! That's an eye-opener! The more I learn, the more there is to learn!
No, I haven't had any Ruhi Courses yet. (I can't afford anything now. I lost my job 2 years ago, but last week I started a part-time job. I need sooo many things first.) I was given a couple of contact numbers yesterday and shall use them soon.

Btw, please pray that I get a decent-paying FULL-time job and my own apartment soon.
Thank you!
