Lately I've been reading Bart Ehrman "Misquoting Jesus" which has an interesting auto biography of Ehrman's spiritual odyssey from more fundamentalist-evangelical Christianity to his current investigations. He places a premium on "truth" the results of his research. I hope top read James Robinson's "Gospel of Jesus" next. - Art |

i've been reading "Faith of a Heritic", by Walter Kauffman. i think he takes after Nietzsche for his honesty, though he seems to be very unsympathetic towards Christianity. nevertheless, i can't help respecting this book even where i'm not sure i agree with it--which never really happends because i'm never quite sure about what i think or agree with anyway... |

I finally finished reading Ehrman's "Misquoting Jesus".. I took my time and passed it on to my wife... Ehrman is a Professor on Textual Criticism and shows how various NT texts were altered by scribes for various reasons in the history of Christianity. He also basically says there are many variations in the early Greek texts that have survived. It also helps me understand how important it is that we have the original Tablets of the Central Figures of our Faith. - Art |

ooh, i like this question. i've still been thinking about Parallels and Paradoxes by Daniel Barenboim and Eduard Said. maybe because i was in a good state of mind when i was reading it. i enjoyed it also because brought me a little bit closer to the science and philosophy of music, which i was completely foreign to. |

Terry Goodkind's sword of truth series is basicly philosophy disguised as fantasy. I especialy like his consept of wizard rules. Wizards first rule: "People Are Stupid. They will believe anything they want to be true or they fear to be true. People can be made to believe any lie, either because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it's true." |
