Our path to Unity

Hello everyone, I hope you are all very happy and active in achieving our next goal of Unity.

As the Old World order rolls up we have been foretold that the tests to our mental strength will be increased greatly.

It is to easy to dwell on all that is not good and harder to stay motivated in positive change in all aspects of life.

Personally I see the world currently in great change, the tests getting greater each day, there is much more to come and we have to come to terms wirth the change.

Who wants to chat about this, or add to the ideas to disuss.

Regards Tony

I feel it is harder to stay positively motivated because we can't solely rely on previously learned knowledge (such as what you learned in college) to stay relevant in today's global economy: we must pursue "lifelong learning". In part it has to do with learning many new complex skills. In order to even be in demand in the job market one must learn them. Also, competition for jobs isn't just with people in your region; it's a global free-for-all. Sometimes I look at skills that take at least a year to learn and the intense competition and feel a little overwhelmed. I'm speaking as somebody looking to switch careers and pursue web development.

Social networks tend to erode positive thinking. At the moment, there are constant online posts about the election in the United States (and they are usually negative comments about the candidates), news emphasizing terrible events (Syria), and gossip. At the same time social networks seem indispensable for everyday life. It allows me to keep in contact with friends and family far away.

Speaking of coming to terms with change . . .

Ran across this beautiful prayer when praying for unity this morning...

O Thou kind Lord! O Thou Who art generous and merciful! We are servants of Thy threshold and are gathered beneath the sheltering shadow of Thy divine unity. The Sun of Thy mercy is shining upon all, and the clouds of Thy bounty shower upon all. Thy gifts encompass all, Thy loving providence sustains all, Thy protection overshadows all, and the glances of Thy favor are cast upon all. O Lord! Grant Thine infinite bestowals, and let the light of Thy guidance shine. Illumine the eyes, gladden the hearts with abiding joy. Confer a new spirit upon all people and bestow upon them eternal life. Unlock the gates of true understanding and let the light of faith shine resplendent. Gather all people beneath the shadow of Thy bounty and cause them to unite in harmony, so that they may become as the rays of one sun, as the waves of one ocean, and as the fruit of one tree. May they drink from the same fountain. May they be refreshed by the same breeze. May they receive illumination from the same source of light. Thou art the Giver, the Merciful, the Omnipotent.

'Abdu'l-Baha'
The Promulgation of Universal Peace, pg 160

So, so many beautiful prayers to guide us.

Loving regards,
Becky

They that are endued with sincerity and faithfulness should associate with all the peoples and kindreds of the earth with joy and radiance, inasmuch as consorting with people hath promoted and will continue to promote unity and concord, which in turn are conducive to the maintenance of order in the world and to the regeneration of nations. Blessed are such as hold fast to the cord of kindliness and tender mercy and are free from animosity and hatred.

Baha'u'llah, Tablets of Baha'u'llah, pg. 36

Just think this is a good topic to focus on.......unity.

Wonderdul prayer Becky and yes we are so fortunate to have so many prayers direct from the Manfestation and Abdul'Baha.

May we all offer them often to accelerate the required Unity of Mankind.

unity Quote

"ĎAbduíl-BahŠ said: Those who are working alone are like ants, but when they are united they will become as eagles. Those who work singly are as drops, but, when united, they will become a vast river carrying the cleansing water of life into the barren desert places of the world. Before the power of its rushing flood, neither misery, nor sorrow, nor any grief will be able to stand. Be united! It is rather dangerous to be an isolated drop. It might be spilled or blown away".
(Lady Blomfield, The Chosen Highway, p. 171)

It is the desire of the Lord God that the loved ones of God and the handmaids of the Merciful in the West should come closer together in harmony and unity as day followeth day...This matter is of the utmost importance; this is the magnet that draweth down the confirmations of God. If once the beauty of the unity of the friends ---this Divine Beloved--- be decked in the adornments of the Abha' Kingdom, it is certain that within a very short time those countries will become the Paradise of the All-Glorious, and that out of the West the splendors of unity will cast their bright rays over all the earth.

Abdu'l-Baha', Selections from the Writings of Abdu'l-Baha' , no.41.2

As I was posting this on the Unity thread, I realized that I could also post it on Walrus's Joyous Messenger thread, as it answers Gnat's question about life on this plane before we enter the spiritual realm. We do live with purpose on earth, and that affects our life in the Kingdom. And, to me, this particular writing shows me why I feel such urgency to pray for those souls who dwell in the Abha'Kingdom.

Loving regards,
Becky
