Welcome to the Baha'i forums, Absolon. For an overview and introduction to the faith, I would recommend Baha'u'llah and the New Era. It is new to the Faith friendly and very informative.
Loving regards,
Becky

Last night i read book nr.9 "Der Weltfriedensvertrag" I think that goes in the right direction. Baha'i Religion in political/historical context.
Next on the must read list should be the holiest book Kitab-i-Aqdas.

The Kitab-i-quan (Book of Certitude) is a great book that shows us the Oneness of God and His Religions and His Purpose for mankind.

Please don't take my word for it - but I heard in a talk from Mr. Dunbar that Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh, the Kitabi Iqan, Some Answered Questions and God Passes By are a good start.
