Looking for positive stories

Hi all,

I have been a bit down this week.

So in search of some positivity, could people please share some stories of positive outcomes of the application of Baha'i principles in your communities .

Thanks,
T

Hi Traveller great days our dear friend, great days. Sorry I have no stories from my community, we have been here 2 years and can not find a start in children and youth community activities. We can only keep inviting.

Thus living the life in our daily jobs, is our main effort as a positive contribution to the community.

As Abdul'baha has said, no matter turn to God and be happy with your lot in life, happiness brings confirmation and change of circumstances in our lives.

I did have an amazing confirmation to a dream that was the result of a post on this forum about the book 'Door of Hope'.

So let me tell the story. I will keep it short.

In 2012 I went on Pilgrimage with my son, we were unable to see the house of Abdul'baha and I was sad. I thought no more of it.

A few years ago I had a dream about Abdul'baha. In the dream Abdulbaha was standing at the top of some steps in a doorway, with another doorway to the left. I was amazed I was seeing Abdul'baha and walked up the stairs. As I walked up Abdul'baha turned to the right and I went to the left and woke up. I told quite a few about that happy dream.

My wife and I go on Pilgrimage in December this year and a post on this form suggested the book noted above, to which I purchased and was reading.

I got to page 145 and my heart sung, I saw a picture it was the vision in my dream. Link - https://goo.gl/images/Eup6jq

Wow I said and read on, got to page 147 and was amazed at what I read. It informed me that to the right where Abdul'baha went in my dream, was his room where he assended to the Abha Kingdom. Then to the left the direction I went was the room where Abdul'baha and Shoghi Effendi received Pilgrims.

What can I say, I hope that makes your heart sing as it did mine. I wil see the house on this Pilgrimage and I will remember you all and offer prayers for you all in this special place.

Ya Baha'ul Abha.

Regards Tony

Tony,

That is a wonderful story, and it certainly did give me a chill! I think it would be wonderful to have a collection of such stories. I know many Baha'is who have had dreams like this of the 'Abdu'l-Baha, Baha'u'llah, the Bab. I have even heard of powerful dreams involving Mirza Mihdi and Martha Root. It seems to be a common feature of Baha'i culture. The nearest parallel I can think of is Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Christians who I have heard stories of dreams featuring saints or angels.

Thanks for sharing!

Does it have to be exactly the principles and our communities?

I'd say that this quote is quite helpful:

"Be thou as a flame of fire to My enemies and a river of life eternal to My loved ones, and be not of those who doubt."

It's a very good guiding line in my efforts to deliver children from the fangs of the CPS. It works.

I am more than down. I am in a very bad way in my relationship with God , so I am the last one to cheer anyone up.

Anyhow, I am not the slightest bit downcast about the triumph of this Cause. I just discovered the content of this quote recently:

“Warn and acquaint the people, O Servant, with the things We have sent down unto Thee, and let the fear of no one dismay Thee, and be Thou not of them that waver. The day is approaching when God will have exalted His Cause and magnified His testimony in the eyes of all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth.”Gleanings From the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 248

Then there is this one that was posted to me by a wonderful Baha'i on another forum...

“The Day is approaching when God will render the hosts of Truth victorious, and He will purge the whole earth in such wise that within the compass of His knowledge not a single soul shall remain unless he truly believeth in God,worshippeth none other God but Him, boweth down by day and by night in His adoration, and is reckoned among such as are well assured.” Selections From the Writings of the Báb, pp. 153-154

Abdul'baha says the best way out of the frame of mind is to go do something for someone else and make them happy.

It works and I wish you much happy!

All the best, regards Tony
