Dear friends

Centrum is not merely a journal, it is a beginning of a movement – a movement which has a purpose, depth, consistency and permanence. It is a journal for and from the citizens of the Eastern world whose very basis of existence is based on Faith.

Today, this civilization which has been the bedrock of nearly all religions is under threat. In the name of Peace, in the name of Globalization, the east is coming increasingly under the domination of the west. Our rich heritage is being continuously marginalized by the materialism of the west. Our children are today more conversant with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Popeye. Where are those beautiful stories from Arabian Nights, Panchatantra, Kathamritsagar, stories from the Bible, Chinese short stories ! those stories which gave a moral education to our children. There has been a systematic invasion of western pattern of thinking into the eastern world. We are overwhelmed by the western concepts of Peace, Feminism, dress, Fashion, Food habits, education, Politics, and Human Rights. Today see the condition of Japan, China, Afghanistan, Iraq, the Middle East.

Friends mere intellectualism leads to cannibalism. According to the intellectual reasoning a country is after all a stretch of inanimate inert territory. Biologically, a man is nothing but flesh and blood and bones. But Eastern reasoning tries to explore something deeper, something “inner” that sustains the unity of the Universe. The east teaches Humanity to experience the nobler sentiments of the heart. All countries of the east inherits a dynamic, uncompromising, fiery type of devotion which is life-breath of a free, prosperous and glorious human and national existence.

Friends, this journal does not believe in the dictum of the famous poet Rudyard Kipling “Oh ! East is East and West is West and never the twain shall meet”. We are not against globalization. Neither are we against the west. We believe in the unity of the universe, the unity of mankind. But the unity can come only when the east has revived its lost heritage, when the east strengthens its civilization creates an alternative Society based on eastern ethics and then meet the west. Globalization is possible only when the two civilizations meet on the footing of equality.

Come let us forget all our territorial boundaries and our differences and unite to create this alternative Society based on Eastern Reasoning and Faith. We request you to read Centrum, think over it, Contribute articles which will bring out the potentialities of the eastern civilization, subscribe it and become a part of this movement.Please send us original unpublished articles in ENGLISH only for us to publish in our journal.

Doing a "Google" search, I find no mention of "Centrum Journal" other than an empty Yahoo profile. Is there any business plan for the jornal? Does it have recognized institutional support?

I applaud your desires, but is this journal an effective means by which to promote your ideas?

Thank you very much for the pains taken by you for Centrum. Well Centrum is a journal which could be subscribed and also will be carrying advertisements.

Also Centrum is the first project under the Society of eastern studies which is registered under the Govt.of maharastra India. Our website is under construction and will be launched very soon.

Sir it would be very helpful on your part if you can contribute original unpublished articles to us for publication.

Please also find as attachments the rates of subscription and the rates of advertisements.
