What caused the Baha'i faith to appear?

I was once reading and I foundthis:"All down the ages, whenever the spiritual life of men has become degenerate and their morals corrupt, that most wonderful and mysterious of men, the Prophet, makes His appearance."
So what provoked the appearance of Baha'u'llah at that time?

Hi!

The year that the Baha'i Faith would begin had been prophesied millenia in advance, in both the Jewish scriptures (Daniel) and Christian scriptures (Revelation)! (You can read the details of this in several places, including in the Baha'i scriptures, specifically in 'Abdu'l-Baha's Some Answered Questions.)

And at the time it began, Persian (now Iran) was among the worst, most backward areas in the world, and as is often the case, the new Divine Messengers, the Bab and Baha'u'llah, arose there.

Best regards, and please feel free to keep the questions coming: we LOVE 'em! :-)
