I just showed my son the Bahai Forum and I am sure he will pass on the messege to his friends. Well , I will continue to inform more Bahai friends of mine from India about this great site. This is indeed a very unique site and one of its kind. I must congratulate the master mind working behind the scene. It is a wonderful way to come to know people from the different Bahai Communities around the world.

Would it make sense to tell my non-Baha'i friends of this website?

We could still use more friends on this forum. Many voices help promote the sharing and search of the various ideas. No question is to silly for posting.

Sincerely,
Steven J. Hathaway

I like the website and wish it every success. I'd like to support it by linking to here from my Baha'i-related website, instead of implementing a separate forum. There's one issue though: targeted advertising.

I appreciate that these websites aren't free to run, but these adverts can advertise things we really don't want to be advertising.

For example, on the main page Bahá'í Forums - Bahá'í Forum for the Bahá'í Faith, just under the title, I can see 4 Google adverts: one for a covenant breaking group, two for other religions (scientology and gnosticism), and one for a 'spiritual' dating website (ok).

There were similar kinds of issues at Delphi Forums, but the mods had no control over the adverts there. Here I think the mods do? Any thoughts on this?

PS - the adverts only show when not logged in.

The advertisement were put there 24 hours ago. I just removed the ads. Only Lurkers could see them. I wanted to see what kind of ad campaigns would show, so it was only a 24-hour test.

I have since removed all advertisements.

In the future, if we decide to bring ads onto the site, we will not use a third-party to serve the ads because we dont want to promote covenant-breaking groups.

I hope no one was offended by that 24 hour time block where the ads were running, it was just an experiment to see the selection/choice of ads.

No lurker or logged in user can now see any ads of any sort.

Thanks beansbaxter, looks like I had bad timing visiting the site during ad-testing!

I've included a link to the Forum at www.bahaiproofs.com (top menu), please let me know if that's ok? The website there is still in the early stages of development, but still has a steady stream of visitors. Would be great if some of those visitors would find their way here.

Yes, that is fine. I will add your site to our Newsfeed so when people click the News articles, they goto your site to give you some added exposure as well.

We want to work and help others in the Baha'i community. :cool

Thanks for the link, Ramin

I visited the site, nice.
In staying within the idea of this thread, I am announcing the web site to the friends at our Naw-Ruz party tonight. It took me a while to find Baha'i Forums. I'd like to make it easier for some of my friends and Baha'i family here in E. Tennessee.

Another good one to keep in mind, Jsorr, is the Planet Baha'i forum, which you can find here:

Planet Baha'i

It has an excellent bunch of folks, both Baha'i and others, and a lot of really great discussion threads!

I wish you good hunting! :-)

Its main feature is a very active discussion group which gets many postings every day!

And while some of the stuff at Planet Baha'i may have been around for a while, other parts are brand new and just posted in the past few weeks!

So I encourage you to look around there, and especially to participate in the discussions!

(There's also an occasional live chat, but that happens fairly infrequently.)

Regards, :-)

Bruce
