Allah'u'abha. I'm new here. I'm looking for Bahá'í friends as I live in a small city in Georgia, USA and I'm the only Bahá'í for maybe a hundred miles. I was wondering if fellow Bahá'ís around my age(16) would message me and allow me to add them to msn or facebook as I would be incredibly grateful to converse with a fellow Bahá'í. |

Hi, larry! Allah'u'abha. Well, I'm thirteen... That makes us both youth Baha'is, yet not peers. . Darn. Regardless, there aren't any people up here in Iowa that are my age and baha'i, too. Again, darn. . Well, Hi, again. I guess that this post doesn't exactly help you, but Hi regardless!

Hi LarryK and Pheonixduprese: I admit to being older than you, but I started out as a Baha'i youth way back when, and remember how nice it was to hang out with other Baha'i youth in Glenview, IL. If you want, I'd be happy to "friend" you both on Facebook, and see if I can somehow network you with other Baha'i youth and young people. You might also check out Rainn Wilson's website: www.soulpancake.com; it seems to be geared for the younger generation. Allah-u-Abha, Valerie Smith in CT |

Here's something that Baha'i youth would enjoy, a spiritual message being delivered at a Baha'i youth conference with a great deal of high-spirited fun (36 minutes): Last edited by bwb; 09-07-2010 at 07:17 AM. |

Greetings, and welcome to the neighborhood! :-) In addition to sneaking up to the Baha'i Unity Center east of Atlanta when you get the chance, you might want to check out SoulPancake it has a bunch of Baha'is participating on it! And I wish you good hunting! :-) Bruce |

Larry - there are Baha'is all around you. They just don't know it yet. Let me know if I can send you some youth to help you find them!

Baha'is consider the Baha'i faith to be the revealed faith for this age. But we are commanded to "Consort with the followers of all religions in a spirit of friendliness and fellowship" -Baha'u'llah.

There are two quotes that I am reminded of with regards to this question. This first is: This is the changeless Faith of God, eternal in the past, eternal in the future. (Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 136) And the second: Beware, O believers in the Unity of God, lest ye be tempted to make any distinction between any of the Manifestations of His Cause, or to discriminate against the signs that have accompanied and proclaimed their Revelation. (Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 59) From these and other similar quotations it definitely seems that Baha'u'llah doesn't teach the superiority of this faith over the others. 'Allah'u'abha', Larry! I'm 16 too. Also like you, there aren't many Baha'is in my community. But I hope that we can converse; I just sent you a Facebook friend request (my profile picture is the same, a statue of an eagle in Haifa). I know a Baha'i in Florida who is also 16 who would be interested in talking with you, and he's geographically closer to you. |

Really? Cool. I'd like to get into contact with him somehow. Not by meeting up with him somewhere but by email or something. Could you contact him and see what he thinks?
