I started look at this site: http://www.rt66.com/~obfusa/ya.html I read some testimonies of ex Bahai's who had turned to the Orthodox Baha'i Faith. They all seem so sure of themselves and all claim to have read the writtings and all fingers point to a Living Guardianship. Now i'm having doubts of my own. What do I do? -Lorenzo |

Well Lorenzo I don't know how long you have been a Baha'i or even if you are Baha'i but one of the things we have been warned about is not reading the material put out by Covenant Breakers.. and you have apparently exposed yourself. So I would recommend the following as an antedote: Studying the covenant and history of our Faith though will be a good thing but you need reliable material. Anything written by Adib Taherzadeh will be helpful and he has written about the "Covenant of Baha'u'llah". You can order this book at http://www.bahaibookstore.com/contri...ContribID=7267 A couple of things though you should probably know about and that is (1) that Mason Remey who was a Hand of the Cause and served the Faith under Abdul-Baha at first signed a statement after the Guardains's death in 1957 that Shoghi Effendi left no Will and that there was no Successor to him... He later decided that he should be the guardian and announced this around 1960... With very few exceptions the Baha'i world did not accept his claims and the few that did were unsuccessful in breaking the unity of our Faith. (2) Secondly and this is also a very important concept is that the Institution of the Guardianship has continued but there is no living Guardain.... The Universal House of Justice reviews every thing that Shoghi Effendi wrote on a given topic it is addressing and recognizes his interpretations as still binding and in effect. So in this sense the Guardianship as an Institution continues... You can also explore the background of the issue of covenant breaking at this site: http://bahai-library.com/?file=uhj_m...emey_followers My prayers are for you... - Art |
