circumstances

There are times when things are beyond our control. I have not worked in over a year and am close to being out of funds. I am not in debt however. I was very confused when after numerous Tablets of Ahmad and 500 Remover of Difficulties the sale of my home failed. I am now back with another possible buyer. It's very confusing. I know I cannot manipulate God, but I think there was some idea that I could and that things always work out. Perhaps it is my expectations that should change. I am hopeful now, but with trepidation because the outcome remains unknown. I think it is back to trust in God and tie your camel.

Aidan,

Thanks for sharing.. You know one of the things I've noticed is that people who are depressed tend to withdraw from their community..Their Baha'i community and their familiesas well.

The Baha'is at this time need to be more supportive and united than ever.. People are losing their homes..their income..their security in many countries. More than ever we need to have prayers and rely on our friends!

Be not in despair, but rather smile by the mercy of thy Lord; and be not sorrowful when meeting with worldly difficulties and depressions, for they pass away -- and thine shall be immortality during ages and centuries, times and cycles.

(Abdu'l-Baha, Tablets of Abdu'l-Baha v1, p. 177)

Prayers are our spiritual food and medicine.. Recite the Tablet of Ahmad:

Learn well this Tablet, O Ahmad. Chant it during thy days and withhold not thyself therefrom. For verily, God hath ordained for the one who chants it, the reward of a hundred martyrs and a service in both worlds. These favors have We bestowed upon thee as a bounty on Our part and a mercy from Our presence, that thou mayest be of those who are grateful.

By God! Should one who is in affliction or grief read this Tablet with absolute sincerity, God will dispel his sadness, solve his difficulties and remove his afflictions.

Verily, He is the Merciful, the Compassionate. Praise be to God, the Lord of all the worlds.
