My dear friends please indulge me while I ride on my hobbie horse. What in the name of God Almighty are we doing to promote the wonderful news of Baha'u'llah and this magnificent Faith we all share?Protestants have numerous Gospel tents throughout North America and Europe.Evangelical protestantism is growing rapidly in Latin America. The Catholic Faith has well supported parish missions and novenae as well as their foreign missions. Each time I go to a feast or another event it's like the quintessential "nice" tea party on the lawn with vicar and middle class professionals or their retired counterparts. There is the occassional "blue collar" interloper like myself.Time for us all to get our sleeves rolled up and get our hands dirty in promoting the faith locally and nationally. We need to emulate Abdulbaha,if the people wont come to us,we must go to the people.Involve ourselves in good causes eg cleaning the local river and advertise that we are Baha'is.hire local town halls and have prayer and social gatherings to disperse information and create awareness.Get involved in media debates as Baha'is locally, nationally, internationally. The list is only limited by our imaginations and success is only limited by the zeal of our endeavours.Let us be the troops entering our communities.Pheeew, end of rant, thanks for indulging me

Brother Fadl mentioned something to me once about being a "Pioneer" for the Cause of God Perhaps you might want to check it out and become one brother Aiden! I myself would be most pleased if brother Fadl could tell us some more about this |

I think supporting in some way the plan with hosting devotionals and inviting people..offering study circles and participating in interfaith activities and other involvements depending on our talents and interests we will be doing our part.. As to debates..I'm unsure..consulting yes. |

There needs to be a balance between serving the faith and being patient. Knowing you can do your bit but also that unltimately things are in Gods hands. I would say the most effective way to teach on your own doorstep is inviting people to do a book 1. Home visits and building a community neighbourhood is also important which is done in the teaching campains where I live.

The wise are they that speak not unless they obtain a hearing, even as the cup-bearer, who proffereth not his cup till he findeth a seeker, and the lover who crieth not out from the depths of his heart until he gazeth upon the beauty of his beloved. Wherefore sow the seeds of wisdom and knowledge in the pure soil of the heart, and keep them hidden, till the hyacinths of divine wisdom spring from the heart and not from mire and clay. In the first line of the Tablet it is recorded and written, and within the sanctuary of the tabernacle of God is hidden: |

Entry by toops but not in the literal sense. Not a literal army of people and we are not a literal army at war with the world. Who said anything about being careful? You can be as zealous as you like, as long as it is not unwise what you are doing... I hope this helps... |

A troop is one person in the US military. I think when we have "built it" they will come. I think we are in a serious growing season to have knowledgeable or wise or both-Baha'is that are capable of accepting the new as they find this Faith. I see people who are able to truly demonstrate what it is to be a Baha'i that can love and teach wisely. We are truly amazing and it will be become seen. Just keep working on yourself.

Aidan I agree with you...in my travels so often Baha'is feel the be all and end all is doing Ruhi books and are excited by how high the book number is that they have done. Without the right foundation Ruhi is not the panacea here. We have enough Writings that tell us that living the life is the foundation. Living the life as Abdul-Baha indicates is where people around us get to see through our character and actions that we are Baha'is . |
