Plea for your prayers

Dear all, Baha'i or not,

I've learned a lot from being a member in this forum and continue to do so and for that I thank each and every one of you. May God fulfill your grandest dreams. I am faced with a surmountable test and I am broken and battered. I ask you earnestly to remember me in your prayers. May God help us all.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My dear brother Armin,

I am saddened to find you so grieved in spirit. Rest assured you are in my prayers. I hope and pray that God gives you the strength to navigate your life at this very difficult time; to overcome this great test that has come upon you, with the patience and steadfastedness of the holy prophet Job.

I offer to you these inspiring words of Abdu'l-Baha:

"...Is it, then, possible to be saved from the trials of God? No, verily. There is a great wisdom therein of which no one is aware save the wise and knowing. Were it not for tests, genuine gold could not be distinguished from the counterfeit. Were it not for tests, the courageous could not be known from the coward. Were it not for tests, the people of faithfulness could not be known from those of selfishness. Were it not for tests, the intellects and faculties of the scholars in the great colleges would not be developed. Were it not for tests, the sparkling gems could not be known from worthless pebbles. Were it not for tests, the fisherman could not be distinguished from Annas and Caiaphas who were amid glory (worldly dignity).

Were it not for tests the face of Mary, the Magdalene, would not glisten with the light of firmness and certainty unto all the horizons. These are some of the mysteries of tests which we have unfolded unto thee that thou mayest become cognizant of the mysteries of God in every cycle. Verily, I pray God to illumine the faces as pure gold in the fire of tests..."

- (Abdu'l-Baha, Star of the West, vol. 8, no. 19, pp. 238-39.)

And again these words from the biblical Epistle of James:

"...My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance; and let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you. But ask in faith, never doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind; for the doubter, being double-minded and unstable in every way, must not expect to receive anything from the Lord..."

- Book of James (1:3-8), Bible

May you dear brother Armin, enlightened and awakened by the touch of the Holy Spirit, grow to perceive and understand the purpose of God which underlies these great tests that you are at this moment facing, so that through the fire of this period of testing you may be strengthened rather than weakened in your faith.

Much love and blessings to you in Christ,

Your brother Yeshua

Thanks for sharing Armin...

I just read your post and pray that this situation will be resolved and you will be stronger in the long run for having gone through it!

While it is a short prayer of the Bab, Baha'u'llah also encouraged us to recite it ...

I pray for you my brother. God loves the tested (apparently). So you are a well-favoured one amongst the believers...

I thank you all individually, may God assist you in your tests. I prayed much more than I usually do, and thankfully I am better today.

Dear LordOfGoblins, there's a fine thread between believing and disbelieving. The world is in turmoil, and it's up to each and every one of us to move forward the stagnant body of humanity. This humble servant asks you to believe wholeheartedly in God and His promise. I truly believe that God advances His cause in the most mysterious of ways! I am merely a humbled servant, and if you truly believe, you will become one of the "well-favored" ones also!

I am certain you meant well Armin and that you only sought to encourage, but humbly speaking, I don't think we should look at another of our fellow believers as either favoured or in less than a favoured state.

Lord ofG seems to walk humbly and honestly with us all, and I'm sure has a level of trust in God. We all have our struggles. .Or maybe it was just the way the last line was worded that stuck out to me.. I didn't know whether to post on the wall or to you individually.

Btw, I very much hope that you will continue to feel better and are overcoming this trial.

Thank you Rani. You are very right and if what I said was worded I don't know wrongly, or too strongly, I apologize. I meant no disrespect to LOG. I'm no one to to say who is and who is not favored by God. Here in these forums it's hard to tell what the intentions of people are judging merely by a few words we see from each other.

I've no doubt LOG meant well and had good intentions. I just tried to make a point by addressing the "(apparently)" in his response. Had he said, apparently you, armin, are a well favored one, then believe me I would have shut myself from saying a word. The word was put after saying what God has promised us all and that beset me to say what I said. Thank you again for making me clarify that.
