To Change - A True Story of a Helpless Person in a Merciless Society

To all my friends: do read and share this with everybody, an illustration of our indifference to the suffering of the downtrodden. You can find the article at:

To Change. « itsallshadesofgrey

Let the feeling and concern voiced by the author of this article - a young 20 year old - sink into your hearts, awaken our humanity and cause us to do our bit to bring about change; let not this writing remain as a voice in the wilderness. To quote: "If ye meet the abased or the down-trodden, turn not away disdainfully from them, for the King of Glory ever watcheth over them and surroundeth them with such tenderness as none can fathom except them that have suffered their wishes and desires to be merged in the Will of your Lord, the Gracious, the All-Wise. O ye rich ones of the earth! Flee not from the face of the poor that lieth in the dust, nay rather befriend him and suffer him to recount the tale of the woes with which God's inscrutable Decree hath caused him to be afflicted. By the righteousness of God! Whilst ye consort with him, the Concourse on high will be looking upon you, will be interceding for you, will be extolling your names and glorifying your action. Blessed are the learned that pride not themselves on their attainments; and well is it with the righteous that mock not the sinful, but rather conceal their misdeeds, so that their own shortcomings may remain veiled to men's eyes." Bahá'u'lláh, Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh, pg 314

Thanks for sharing this perceptive story Masroor, I used to ignore the problems of other humans that haven't been as fortunate as me, but when I learned to embrace concern for others that I don't even know physically, I felt so much more connected to the heart of this world.

Thanks for your response Timothy! What beautiful thoughts you have, how well you have expressed them, it touched my heart. Its always good to be in touch with like minded people. I hope we can be friends and I pray that we find many more, and many more, and many more....I dream of the day when unity of thought and action may make this world a better place and that successive generations carry on the good work - after all, all great rivers start only as a little stream, once again thanks and glad to know you Timothy, warm regards - Masroor.
