Hi there! I'm new to all this. This is my first post on a Baha'i forum. I'm based in Yorkshire, England. I was introduced to the Baha'i Faith by way of books & videos sent to me 10 years ago from my pioneer Uncle out in the Pacific, though at the time I wasn't really interested in anything like that. Now, I am fascinated by it - from about 2 months ago actually. Can't really say what the trigger was, one of life's mysteries! I am currently gripped with Abdul Baha's 'Some Answered Questions', and 'Baha'u'llah and the New Era'. I have contacted the local Baha'i group here and attended one devotional meeting to see what went on. Not made any official declaration as yet - these things take time, I think. Still don't know if I can 'take that leap', but it's a fascinating journey I am on right now, however it ends out! |

Hi, Welcome to the forum. I spent some time in the York area but am now elsewhere in the world. There were, and I presume still are, some great Bahá'is in the Yorkshire area so I am sure you will be warmly welcomed to any meetings. As I remember, in some areas of Yorkshire, people were a bit spread out geographically but had a great time when they got together. I can reccomend "Selections from the Writings of 'Abdúl-Bahá" ISBN 0 85398 084 5 as a very accesible book and one I have re-visited all of my Bahá'í life. Happy searching |

Many thanks - I'll look out for that one. I have a few questions, which I'll put up on the relevant topic for discussion. Any advice/thoughts greatly appreciated! x |
