Hi everyone! This is Clex19 from Nebraska. I've been born and raised a Baha'i and have recently achieved the age of maturity. I'm looking forward to being a part of this community, however I'm not sure how often I'll be able to be online...I normally have a busy schedule with school and whatnot but I decided to give this a try since I have a some spare time this holiday break. First and foremost, I'm assuming that these forums are nondenominational Baha'i Faith, i.e. not so called "Reform Baha'i Faith" or "Orthodox Baha'i Faith"? Since no one answered/corrected me, I believe I was right. Last edited by Clex19; 12-31-2009 at 10:06 AM. |

I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say "nondemonimational Baha'i Faith." There are Baha'is and there are people who aren't. There are some people who are pretending to be Baha'i but reject some part of the Faith. Some reject Shoghi Effendi as Guardian, some of them think they have other people who are their guardian, but none of these so-called-guardians meet 'Abdu'l-Baha's conditions for being Guardian. Some reject the administrative order, despite the fact that Baha'u'llah ordained it and acceptance of the administrative order is part of being Baha'i. Personally I can't see the Faith would have much value without a system of governance, and I certainly trust one created by Baha'u'llah more than once created by anyone else. What a lot of people forget is that Baha'i is so new that we know very little about it. We are learning, we are taking baby steps, we are going to make mistakes, we are going to stumble and maybe fall once in a while. That's OK. Mistakes are a means of learning. There is no other system in the world that offers the hope that Baha'u'llah's administrative order offers. Rome didn't fall in a day, the building of Baha'u'llah's system will take a while. Baha'is are trying to change the social fabric of the planet. It's never been done before - we're going to make mistakes. It's going to take more than one century to do it. I'm not going to take my marbles and pretend the game is somewhere else. My children say I talk too much. I come from a long line of constant talkers. I don't talk constantly, but when the subject is important - I talk. It is important to know that there are Baha'is and those who pretend to call themselves some certain kind of Baha'i. They aren't. Baha'u'llah has defined who the Baha'is are and they are not people who have rejected part of His administrative order. Sorry for the lecture, but you pushed a button. |
