Allah-u-Abha everyone. I'm 17 and have been a declared Bahai for many months now. I'm coming from being agnostic, who was pretty much an athiest, to the faith. When I first heard about the faith, many of the teachings were very different than what I had heard of "religion" for all my life (such as the agreement of science and religion and progressive revelation). I investigated it and soon found that I couldn't, in good conscience, reject the faith. I love to read so I've read upwards of 2 dozen Bahai books in the past few months. With all this reading I and still amazed at all that there is to learn from Baha'u'llah, this truely is going to be a lifetime journey for me. I hoping that joining this site will allow me to gain new insights to advance the current 5 year plan and improve my abillity to teach the faith. Thanks!

Greetings. When I was seventeen I found the Faith and was surprised to realize that if I did not admit that I was Baha'i then I was just as much a hypocrite as all those I saw around me. So I did. And my family thought I'd gone to Hell. Many still do. One aunt tried to "save" me, then she tried to "save" my children, now she's trying to "save" my grandchildren. At least she cares about us and she is presistent - those are virtues. She is also a Southern Baptist. You will be amazed at what you'll learn along the way. Did you know that 'Abdu'l-Baha identified the way that space and time travel will be possible? Before the soviet cosmonaut announced announced from space that "God's not up here!" Baha'u'llah had written (in one of the Hidden Words) that even though we might search the imensity of space, we will find God in our own hearts. Cool, and Super Cool!!! For a real experience in learning say the Remover of Difficulties at one sitting. It will take a few hours and do not make plans for afterwards, you won't be able to fulfill them. The experience is mind-blowing each time I've done it!!!! Congratulations. Welcome aboard. Ask away!!! dlh..... |
