In this day by naming God as the Beloved, Baha'u'llah has bestowed a personal relationship with God as the right of every individual who accepts His Revelation. The tragedy of having an intermediary, a priest, minister, or imam between one and God is dispelled. The dictionary definnition of mysticism is "a doctrine of an immediate spiritual intuition of truths believed to transcend ordinary understanding, or of a direct, intimate union of the soul with God through contemplation or ecstasy." However I declare that mysticism is MERELY a personal relationship with God. I say that is all it is. However I think the only way to have this is to have an inner relationship with one's self and all that implies. I think this requires an inner locus of control, and a working knowledge of who one is by understanding one's feelings and thinking, what one wants, and what one needs. I think one must realize that God is as one understands God and as one is always coming to understand, a lifelong process. |

That someone understands and appreciates that thinking makes my month. We are always coming to understand God, the God of our understanding is a process!! Mysticism is a process and I promise you there will be ecstacy in your life if your persue God as we are told to by prayer and reading at least twice a day. It will change you and give you knowledge, though it may take years, it will come. I at last had a vision last year when I had a stroke and it came true, everything has turned out okay, wow! It was ecstacy during agony and worth all the years of my life to have experienced it!!!!!!!!! Take hold, and loose not thy hold.
