Introducing Jim

Sorry I didn't do this before!

I'm 65, married, currently living in Guilin, Guangxi, PR China. My wife is teaching English for the College of International Culture and Education of Guangxi Normal University. I'm retired from computer programming, economic and social research, and landscaping, but I check the English on environmental research papers sometimes.

We have a daughter and three grandchildren in Canada, and a son and one grandchild in China. Between us we've lived in Indiana, Iowa, California, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, Virginia, Guadeloupe and Martinique.

My biggest passion in the Baha'i Faith is the framework for action of the Universal House of Justice. Another passion is walking and working with some of the people around me that I see being abused, stigmatized and marginalized the most.

I've searched and searched, and I can't find anything, anywhere, about forum rules or guidelines, or how to report abuse.

Also, I've sent messages on the "Contact Us" form, and to the person who welcomed me when I joined and said to let me know if I need any help, and I have not received any response or even any acknowledgement.

It's a bit like that here. THe person who runs the site doesnt maintain it often. As for 'report abuse', since it is unmoderated I dont think that option is available.

I see that I owe some apologies.

Some of my conduct here has been ... well, contentious, and sometimes discourteous.

Also, not very friendly.

Also, reckless and thoughtless.

"There will be no meeting on Mount Carmel to-day. We shall meet elsewhere, Insha'allah, in a few days, but we could not go and leave one of the beloved of God alone and sick. We could none of us be happy unless all the beloved were happy."

I see that one of the beloved of God is deeply distressed. I'm suspending all of my discussions here temporarily, to look for some way to help. I'll resume (elsewhere?), Insha'allah, in a few days.

Abdu'l-Bahá told the pilgrims that on Sunday morning He would meet them on Mount Carmel, under the shade of the trees where Bahá'u'lláh had sat and rested. But May Bolles fell ill, and the Master went to visit her on that Sunday. He felt her pulse and then said:

Please remember to site who the quote is from especially when quoting a central figure.
