Allahu Abha from Holland

Allah-u Abha,

Being completely new to this community, it's principles and faith, I'm going to need some time to read in and get acquainted with all of it.

I more or less stumbled upon the Baha'i Faith through my passion for languages and found the words of Baha'u'llah on Arabic in the perspective of the search for an universal language to be very interesting ("If a person were to become truly aware of the comprehensiveness and the broad scope of this most eloquent language, they would assuredly select it.").

He is the only person who seems to be able to make some sense when dealing with the broader questions regarding the future world view such as language (and society, education and such).

In daily life I'm a wife and mother of 3 working a fulltime administrative job. I enjoy reading, studying languages and long distance running.

I suppose that introduces me well enough up to this point Do ask if more information is needed!

Mwana

Allah'u'Abha!

I can relate to your tale of finding the Faith almost by accident. But the beautiful thing with God is nothing is done by accident.

Quote:
All praise, O my God, be to Thee Who art the Source of all glory and majesty, of greatness and honor, of sovereignty and dominion, of loftiness and grace, of awe and power. Whomsoever Thou willest Thou causest to draw nigh unto the Most Great Ocean, and on whomsoever Thou desirest Thou conferrest the honor of recognizing Thy Most Ancient Name. Of all who are in heaven and on earth, none can withstand the operation of Thy sovereign Will.
- Bahá’u'lláh – Bahá’í Prayers – Praise and Gratitude (pg. 85)

I've found meeting Bahá'ís in my local community has been really helpful to finding out more and learning more about the Faith so if you haven't already done that I really reccomend doing so! Great to be welcoming you to the forum, from one new member to another ;-)

That is a very helpful comment. Thanks!
I just subscribed to an email newsletter in my country in order to get some notion of activities in my area. Funny thing: I encountered a quote there stating that deeds rather than words matter in this world, which is one of my core convictions.

That's interesting indeed! That is what drew me to the Faith initially. I saw this video - which has that quotation at the outset - and it sparked an interest.

This is the link I would use to meet people near to you, if you haven't already!
