Hello everyone, I am a 27 year old woman living in Fayetteville, AR. My religious upbringing was that of Christian. In the past 5 years or so, I have identified as Agnostic which developed into a very sad Agnostic who craved faith. I have been dating an amazing man for ten months. He is kind, non-judgmental, and definitely "one of the good guys". He also happens to be Baha'i. He has never, ever pushed me towards his faith, but he has answered many questions that Ive had. I have just started Ruhi Bk 1 and want to learn more. This is why I have joined this forum. Thank you all! |

Welcome! Ruhi books are a great place to start. I wish we'd had those back in the Stone Age when I discovered the faith. LOL |

One day my wife put the book Thief in the Night by William Sears besides my bed, I thought no harm and read it. Could not put it down and became a Baha'i after reading it (1982). It has been quite some journey since. I might add I gave it to my mother who is a born again Christian and she would not read it? Welcome Arkansan Seeker ![]() I am pleased that you wish to know more about the Faith. Good luck on your journey! Since you've already started Ruhi book 1, I highly recommend the Hiden Words. I find them perfect for every day! Or maybe you'd like a kind of an overall introduction? In that case you can't go wrong with "Bahá'u'lláh and the New Era" by John Esslemont or "The Baha'i Faith: The Emerging Global Religion" by William S. Hatcher and J. Douglas Martin. I believe the second one has more details regarding the history, while the first uses a lot of quotations. Enjoy! Last edited by Aquedita; 10-09-2012 at 02:08 AM. |
