Can anyone help me regarding "Makateeb Abdul Baha"

HI
Can anyone tell me what is "Makateeb Abdul Baha", and if it has been translated into English, if yes under which title?

I read some references from "Makateeb Abdul Baha" in one of the Bahai books in Urdu published here in Pakistan........

I would be obliged if some1 can help me....

May peace be upon all.........

Hello,

Makateeb means "Writings'. But maybe there is no english translation of the Makateeb in one Book.. I think you could find many of them in "Selections from the Writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá" and "Tablets of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá".

Thank you very much

Also, is there a book "Khutabat e Abdul Baha"? Is it translated or not?

Soheb:

If you scroll down from the above reference (the Baha'i Reference Library) already provided you will note works in Arabic and Farsi:

Baha'i Reference Library

Baha'i Reference Library

You may find it among the works above..

It may also be that you are using a book that was issued by an Islam International Publication Ltd. I'm guessing that you are... If that's the case, it is probably a polemical work.

I'd urge you to search from materials already available on the site suggested above to form your own independent judgement and not allow yourself to be swayed by polemical works against the Faith.

I was reading that book from Islam Publications Ltd, "the babi and bahai religion",, and i wanted to confirm the sources mentioned in that book,, ive found almost all of the reference books mentioned there on Persian baha'i reference library.. Most of these books have not been yet translated into English.

I am also reading baha'i scriptures in my study of the faith,, ive read Aqdas, Iqan, Summons of Lords of Hosts (not complete) uptil now............

Good for you Soheb.. The English translations we have are for the most based on the translations of the Guardian of the Faith Shoghi Effendi who was appointed Interpreter by Abdul-Baha Himself in His Will and Testament so that's what we mostly go by...

Various people from time to time have come up with what we would term provisional translations...so there is a process gone through when we arrive at an authoritative translation.

"Summons of the Lord of Hosts" issuesd a few years ago is an authoritative translation:
