Question 'Abdu'l-Bahá on purity

Quote:
To be pure and holy in all things is an attribute of the consecrated soul and a necessary characteristic of the unenslaved mind. The best of perfections is immaculacy and the freeing of oneself from every defect.

Selections from the Writings of Abdu'l-Bahá, number 129

Dear Friends,

don't you find this passage refreshing? I know I do.
In the Tablet of Purity 'Abdu'l-Bahá specifically explains that cleanliness of our body is strictly connected to purity of mind, hence influencing our spirit as well.
For me, the fascinating part was when it was mentioned that purity is liberating at the same time. Examples listed in the text include being free from nicotine habit or alcohol intoxication.
In a wider context, in my humble understanding, we ought to treat our body as a temple and just take care of our self so that we can advance on a spiritual level at the same time. Thoughts?

I think that would be a good observation. Keep our minds clean, keep our bodies clean and keep our environment clean.

The writings are full of these little gems of wisdom. I always wonder how we can get to know it all

After years of reading you always find new Gems of Wisdom and when re-reading these Gems of Wisdom, more is disclosed.

Regards Tony
