Are there anecdotes of 3 Central Figures healing debilitated & freaky people?

I remember a lot of stories about Baha'u'llah, The Bab, Abdu'l-Baha encountering poor and helping all sorts of need people. But for some reason perhaps, there's certainly some weird afflictions that never get talked about or tossed around. For some reason these anecdotes seem important nowadays with the rise of extreme perversion and affliction in society.

There's stories of Jesus healing Lepers

Are there anecdotes of 3 Central Figures The Bab, Baha'u'llah, and Abdu'l-Baha encountering helping and healing debilitated or freaky people?

Such as:
people deformed or diseased like lepers
criminals on death row who repented and became Bahais before being executed?
LGBTQ see "Homosexuality in Iran" search results
or "transgender in Iran" search results
Sexual Abuse Survivors
drug addicts
Adversaries that indulged in some kind of disgusting behavior like this:

Bahá’à Stories

This site is by a well-known member of the Baha'i community whose name you will see (unobtrusively) on the page.

Otherwise, yes, there are various such stories told, but in many cases the sources may be unverifiable, the story may contain mis-translation from the original language, or various other reasons why, unless the story is given from a source recognised by Baha'is as being authoritative, not a great deal of attention or interest is shown.

One point must be made regarding so-called "miracles". Baha'is do not place much credence in these, and do not regard them as an aspect of proof. Despite there being many documented miracles, the most prominent of these being on the occasion of the Martydom of the Bab. I would direct you to page 100 of Some Answered Questions, which has been compiled by Laura Clifford Barney from talks given by 'Abdu'l-Baha in reply to questions; here is a direct link:

I have not looked at the videos posted. The subject matter has absolutely no interest to me, but with utmost sadness I note that many such people are regarded by and dealt with unjustly by too many.

I speak as a male who has a sister who was before a brother; and a male who in his much younger days believed himself to be and behaved as a homosexual. My sister's gender change is irrelevant. I say to many people: "I am not interested, I do not care about what is between your legs. I am interested in what is between your ears, and what beats within your rib-cage". The whole issue of transgender, of of homosexuality and all related matters are matters of the physical. But we are spiritual beings (, albeit we have an animal body so we can interact with this material world, and if we begin to adjudge people by their material aspects, then we denigrate that person severely. I do not care if a person is homosexual, lesbian, transgender or whatever else - to do so would relegate that individual to no better than an animal, when the truth is they are a human, a spiritual being, an emanation of God just as I am, and they are no better than and no worse than myself and are to be and will be treated equally with every other soul.

And if a person behaves in a manner that can be regarded as "disgusting", no matter how I feel or what I think, I must remember before all else the three finger rule - please, my dear friend, I ask you to physically point your finger at me; how many fingers point back at yourself? So, before all else I must reform my own behaviour, and when I have reformed my own behaviour, then by example alone and even without intending to, can change the behaviour of others.

Some more reason and insight why I asked that and posted those vids and asked this

During the 1980's and some of the 1990's in North America when where I was raised as a child when my parents were enrolled in the Faith I was inducted with prejudice by my parents and in many respects the entire Bahai community in the Urban areas there, with My family economically challenged and got a sense that the very eloquent refined, materially successful and organized Persian immigrant Bahais were venerated by my parents and some of the other non-Persian Bahais as the great holier than Thou exotic ambassadors from the land of Baha'u'llah. Its good to show the culture from whence Baha'u'llah sprang from is at least as f.u.b.a.r. as the United States non-Bahais because I would otherwise never believe that the Manifestation of God was needed there more than anywhere else. And if these Persian ethnic Bahais in Western Countries are venerated as living opulant lifestyles and holier than everyone else withoutthem remembering their roots in a $hith*le howling towelhead degeneration Iran is and help refugees from dysfunctional environments inside Western coutnries? How else can people of debilitated scarcity and perversion feel comfortable even welcome and find refuge in Baha'u'llah's teachings? Or take them the least bit seriously?

Abdu'l-Baha on opium addiction:

But this is not so; for capacity is of two kinds, natural capacity and acquired capacity. The first, which is the creation of God, is purely good -- in the creation of God there is no evil; but the acquired capacity has become the cause of the appearance of evil. For example, God has created all men in such a manner, and has given them such a constitution and such capacities, that they are benefited by sugar and honey, and harmed and destroyed by poison. This nature and constitution is innate, and God has given it equally to all mankind. But man begins little by little to accustom himself to poison, by taking a small quantity each day, and gradually increasing it, until he reaches such a point that he cannot live without a gram of opium every day. The natural capacities are thus completely perverted. Observe how much the natural capacity and constitution can be changed, until by different habits and training they become entirely perverted. One does not criticize vicious people because of their innate capacities and nature, but rather for their acquired capacities and nature.

This is where Baha'u'llah walked and Abdu'l-Baha's culture is from. Abdu'l-Baha seemed like kind of an obscure exotic Santa Claus figure for as far as some child is concerned with an abusive dysfunctional family unless we have anecdotes of these Central Figures confronting these problems an dhealing them.

How else can The Bahai Faith even begin to survive?

"...Perhaps the most extraordinary feature of Mashhad life, before I leave the subject of the shrine and the pilgrims, is the provision that is made for the material solace of the letter during their stay in the city. In recognition of the long journeys which they have made, of the hardships which they have sustained, and of the distances by which they are xlvii severed from family and home, they are permitted, with the connivance of the ecclesiastical law and its officers, to contract temporary marriages during their sojourn in the city. There is a large permanent population of wives suitable for the purpose. A mulla is found, under whose sanction a contract is drawn up and formally sealed by both parties, a fee is paid, and the union is legally accomplished. After the lapse of a fortnight or a month, or whatever be the specified period, the contract terminates; the temporary husband returns to his own lares et penates in some distant clime, and the lady, after an enforced celibacy of fourteen days' duration, resumes her career of persevering matrimony. In other words, a gigantic system of prostitution, under the sanction of the Church, prevails in Mashhad. There is probably not a more immoral city in Asia; and I should be sorry to say how many of the unmurmuring pilgrims who traverse seas and lands to kiss the grating of the Imam's tomb are not also encouraged and consoled upon their march by the prospect of an agreeable holiday and what might be described in the English vernacular as 'a good spree.'"

Don't you refer to your Manifestation of God as "The Divine Physician"? who heals? who has the courage to encounter and help people with some difficult debilitated problems? (regardless of whether its their fault or not) That's what people suffering in humanity often want and need. I'm weary of thinking of Abdu'l-Baha whose just this weird good samaritan historical foreign Santa Claus.

You are absolutely correct regards the Manifestation being, among many things, the Divine Physician, but like-wise the Baha'is are cautioned to first diagnose the disease. And made it easy for us by telling us what it is. The Bab, Baha'u'llah and 'Abdu'l-Baha all stated unequivocally that the illness is lack of spirituality - you have proved to my complete satisfaction that you have a greater knowledge of the Writings than you would portray, so you know exactly where to find the relevant quotes. But others attend this forum also, who are not as familiar with the Baha'i Writings, so I will give some quotes from Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah (and after quotes from 'Abdu'l-Baha). I make the strongest recommendation to any who read these to go to the Volume and read for themselves, to ensure that I have not quoted out of context: merely to make a point:

The Prophets of God should be regarded as physicians whose task is to foster the well-being of the world and its peoples, that, through the spirit of oneness, they may heal the sickness of a divided humanity. To none is given the right to question their words or disparage their conduct, for they are the only ones who can claim to have understood the patient and to have correctly diagnosed its ailments. No man, however acute his perception, can ever hope to reach the heights which the wisdom and understanding of the Divine Physician have attained. Little wonder, then, if the treatment prescribed by the physician in this day should not be found to be identical with that which he prescribed before. How could it be otherwise when the ills affecting the sufferer necessitate at every stage of his sickness a special remedy?
page 80)

The All-Knowing Physician hath His finger on the pulse of mankind. He perceiveth the disease, and prescribeth, in His unerring wisdom, the remedy. Every age hath its own problem, and every soul its particular aspiration. The remedy the world needeth in its present-day afflictions can never be the same as that which a subsequent age may require. Be anxiously concerned with the needs of the age ye live in, and center your deliberations on its exigencies and requirements.

We can well perceive how the whole human race is encompassed with great, with incalculable afflictions. We see it languishing on its bed of sickness, sore-tried and disillusioned. They that are intoxicated by self-conceit have interposed themselves between it and the Divine and infallible Physician. Witness how they have entangled all men, themselves included, in the mesh of their devices. They can neither discover the cause of the disease, nor have they any knowledge of the remedy. They have conceived the straight to be crooked, and have imagined their friend an enemy.

Incline your ears to the sweet melody of this Prisoner. Arise, and lift up your voices, that haply they that are fast asleep may be awakened. Say: O ye who are as dead! The Hand of Divine bounty proffereth unto you the Water of Life. Hasten and drink your fill. Whoso hath been re-born in this Day, shall never die; whoso remaineth dead, shall never live.

Disencumber yourselves of all attachment to this world and the vanities thereof. Beware that ye approach them not, inasmuch as they prompt you to walk after your own lusts and covetous desires, and hinder you from entering the straight and glorious Path.
Know ye that by “the world” is meant your unawareness of Him Who is your Maker, and your absorption in aught else but Him.
Proclaim unto men the Message of thy Lord, that it may haply deter them from following the promptings of their evil and corrupt desires, and bring them to the remembrance of God, the Most Exalted, the Most Great.

To treat people whom an individual may call aberrant based on material considerations, such as gender preference, or behaviour another individual dis-approves of, is to focus on the symptoms and not on the cause. As fast as one symptom appears to be cured, another symptom will arise in its stead. It is, in a way, the same affect as conversion by the sword - when no longer threatened, the convert reverts.

Only through treatment of the cause will the various illnesses - the symptoms - afflicting human society be cured.

I do not have ready access in the same way to Shoghi Effendi as I do to the three Central Figures, But still there are many references. One from 'Abdu'l-Baha, Selections from the Writings of 'Abdu'l-Baha, page 201:

Likewise didst thou ask whether, in this Bahá’í Dispensation, the spiritual will ultimately prevail. It is certain that spirituality will defeat materialism, that the heavenly will subdue the human, and that through divine education the masses of mankind generally will take great steps forward in all degrees of life—except for those who are blind and deaf and mute and dead. How can such as they understand the light? Though the sun’s rays illumine every darkest corner of the globe, still the blind can have no share in the glory, and though the rain of heavenly mercy come down in torrents over all the earth, no shrub or flower will bloom from a barren land.

Promulgation of Universal Peace, page 7 (PUP: - same advice as above:

Therefore, let your faces be more radiant with hope and heavenly determination to serve the Cause of God, to spread the pure fragrances of the divine rose garden of unity, to awaken spiritual susceptibilities in the hearts of mankind, to kindle anew the spirit of humanity with divine fires and to reflect the glory of heaven to this gloomy world of materialism. When you possess these divine susceptibilities, you will be able to awaken and develop them in others. We cannot give of our wealth to the poor unless we possess it. How can the poor give to the poor? How can the soul that is deprived of the heavenly bounties develop in other souls capacity to receive those bounties?

The world of humanity is submerged in a sea of materialism.
(ibid, page 12) the winter of the spiritual cycle witnesses the death and disappearance of divine growth and extinction of the light and love of God.
(ibid, page 95)

Imitation destroys the foundation of religion, extinguishes the spirituality of the human world, transforms heavenly illumination into darkness and deprives man of the knowledge of God. It is the cause of the victory of materialism and infidelity over religion; it is the denial of Divinity and the law of revelation; it refuses Prophethood and rejects the Kingdom of God. When materialists subject imitations to the intellectual analysis of reason, they find them to be mere superstitions; therefore, they deny religion.
(ibid, page 161)

I could go on - not just in the Texts themselves but in numerous compilations, this issue of materialism is discussed, and is recognised as the cause of these societal ailments. Thus, if one wishes to treat the condition of materialism, then we must encourage, demonstrate and teach the spiritual life.

76 O Son of My Handmaid!
Guidance hath ever been given by words, and now it is given by deeds. Every one must show forth deeds that are pure and holy, for words are the property of all alike, whereas such deeds as these belong only to Our loved ones. Strive then with heart and soul to distinguish yourselves by your deeds. In this wise We counsel you in this holy and resplendent tablet.

And thus, we treat the cause, and the symptoms will vanish of their own accord.

We all have a lot to consider when we accept such a challenge that Baha'u'llah has given.

I like Amatu'l-Bahá Rúhíyyih Khánum, as she was down to earth and called a spade a spade.
