Are there any Baha’is here who were formerly atheists?

I told an atheist on another forum that atheists have become Baha’is because I recall that some Baha’is have said they were formerly atheists. However, I do not remember who they were or what they said.

I have been having a dialogue with this atheist for some time and today he said: ‘If you know any of these atheists, please invite them to the forum. I would like to hear what convinced them to embrace your faith.”

The primary problem atheists have with the Baha’i Faith, or any religion, is that they do not like the “idea” of Messengers of God and they do not believe Messengers should be necessary at all, in order to know anything about God... This is obviously a huge stumbling block...

Hi I was atheist so I can join you if you would like
Are you serious? You were an atheist? I thought you had been a Muslim.

Can you briefly tell me how you came to be a Baha'i from being an atheist?
You would be a great asset to that forum I post on if you were an atheist.

Sincerely, Trailblazer

I was raised a muslim and left my faith at 16 and then re joined of my own accord at 18 for 6 months then left and was into all kinds of theories which can be considered atheism such as not believing in a god but energy or aliens creating us .. How I found the faith was just being unhappy and searching for fulfillment

Thanks. I do not know if this atheist would consider you an atheist since you believed in God growing up. But most atheists I know were formerly Christians so maybe you would qualify.

Needless to say, if you want to join me in the trenches on the other forum I guess it would not hurt. Just be warned, it can be a rough crowd and there are not just atheists there but some atheists who believe God is evil and responsible for all the suffering in the world because they think that humans have no free will.

Send me a personal message if you are interested in this forum and I will send you the link.

It sounds like you are in a war zone lol.. May god help you .. Hmm maybe I'll pass this one ..
I am sorry I made it sound that bad. Only a couple of the atheists are like that there. Most of them are pretty cool.

I will tell you, I would much rather talk to atheists and agnostics than Christians. There is nothing more painful than talking to Christians. I am at my wits end. Christianity and the Baha'i Faith are irreconcilable. What Christians believe is so far from what Jesus ever said. They are so arrogant. It makes me sick. :(
