Jackson Sun: 'Education Under Fire': Tennessee Baha'is raise awareness of persecution in Iran

'Nashville Baha’i Farsheed Ferdowsi was 27 when his father was executed in Tehran, Iran, for being a member of the Baha’i faith. Ferdowsi said his father was a prominent businessman in Tehran and a member of one of the Baha’i administrative councils.

“In November 1981, the government barged into their conference and arrested everybody,” he said. “They were all imprisoned for two months. Then, in January 1982, they executed them all — men and woman — unceremoniously.”'
