They teach the kids about different religions and value systems, such as hbtq - more or less like presenting a menu. Character training is not a part of our educational system.

Well that is more than the NZ students get :confused: which led to a 17 yr student at the end of a history unit on the English Reformation, to say " So we had the Catholics and the protestants , but where were the Christians during this time ?

I should also say, that my own catholic upbringing and self-directed reading on the world's religions has not been enough to help me deal with the ethical issues I face in my work in medical research :(

Those ethical issues: you find them in every profession. I could fill a few pages with such reflections.
