I just came back to the Bahai Faith this week. I thought I was wrong for leaving and they accepted me back. The Bahai's were very nice about it. They accepted me back with open arms. I think I was just misinformed. Some people told me some stuff that wasn't true. But I'm happy to be back! I will stay this time for good.
I am so glad you are back! :)

I think all people are looking for the truth. It is important to understand that their truth is just as little absolutely true or authorized as your truth. This is a wonderful point to deal with other opinions without elevating them or yourself. The thing is that Baha'u'llah's statements are so complex in their meanings that they can reflect our level of knowledge and our current perspective at all levels of understanding. Sometimes we think that the search for truth and the approach of overcoming old traditions and beliefs would be a theoretical one or one that we observe but which does not concern us. And yes, we can observe it, but it is usually the most important step to realize that the message of Baha'u'llah concerns ourselves. It is not only collective, but meaningful to one's own life. Welcome here :)

1991. I'm not sure I was fully aware what I was signing up for at the time. But despite many obstacles, here I am, still stumbling forward.

For me it was 1970, and I had no idea what I was signing up for at the time.
But despite many obstacles, here I am, still stumbling forward :) in between falling flat on my face. :(

I withdrew my membership from The Bahai Faith once again today. I just don't think that this was the right religion for me. I gave it a shot though but it just didn't work out for me. Bye everyone.

Were you born a Baha'i or did you become a Baha'i? What year?
I declared in 1965 about the time I graduated from university... I was very happy to meet the Baha'is in my community. At this time I also met Bill Sears and counselor Florence Mayberry. Later I attended an international conference in Merida Yucatan and met Dr. Muhajir and Enoch Olinga. Anyway for me meeting the Hands around this time was a very special and wonderful experience. On pilgrimage of course I met Amatul Ruhiyih Khanum and Ali Akbar Furutan!

I declared in 1970 during my first year of college in Southern California. The next year I went to a talk put on by Bill Sears but I scarcely remember it, except that it was at a monastery in the desert a little inland from where I lived in Santa Barbara.

My husband has been a Baha'i since 1964 and he knew Bill Sears quite well, since he too lived in Southern California. My husband also knew Hand of the Cause Ugo Giachery quite well.

In San Antonio I briefly met Bill Sears and told him that we shared the same birthday. I've also heard him in a couple of talks. He was a powerful speaker. My wife also talked to Bill Sears in Cleveland not long before his death. I met Furutan and Ruhiyih Khanum when I was on pilgrimage in 1982 a little before I met my wife.

Susan, I didn't know that your husband knew William Sears and Ugo Giachery well.
